On the Frontline, by Tom Neven, softcover, 235 pages, WaterBrook Press, List price: $14
On the Frontline by Tom Neven was a interesting true story about todays Military life and service. At no point did I want to put this book down. Tom Neven is a former Marine who served for seven years all over the world. He brought in all the true aspects of joining the military in any branch discussing the point of views from many servicemen and women who went through similar but very different events during their service. No story was the same from the people who he interviewed. Some of the issues he discussed were loneliness, debt, relationships and fear. All of theses had different views on them from many of the people who he interviewed and met with during his time in the service. Most of this book was written by him but some of it was writings from others which made it interesting and not just one sided.
Tom Nevens purpose of writing this book would be to educate and be a guide to anybody who wants to go into the military and what's to expect and what's most important what you can't expect. He definitely tried his best to give the most accurate view of what happen and did not leave anything out. This book was very throughout and descriptive. This book is written for both men and women of all ages particularly under 18 thinking of enlisting in the Military and serving the United States of America.
