In the book The Green Glass Sea Dewey, the main character, has to leave her home and move to a military camp. She has been always interested in building things just like her father. Since the war Dewey has to stay at home with her neighbor until her dad gets home and he is sometimes gone for days and sometimes weeks. Her dad is some type of secret military scientist and no one knows exactly what he does or what his project is.”maybe my dad will come home early” (25)Dewey doesn't know when she is going to go back home. During the time Dewey has been gone she has been building things with scrap parts and ends up making something. This book is one that you have to know what's going on, focus and stay with it.
